Nebraska Strong, Nebraska Proud is the theme of our two week long sunflower festival.
We meticulously transform twelves acres of our farm into a sunflower wonderland. Over 300,000 bright yellow blooms planted in intervals will be spilling over three terraces during this sixteen day time period. This year, our one of a kind sunflower patch, will be proudly boasting all things Nebraska. Discover facts, foods, people, and historical events dotted along the trails weaving throughout the paths for educational and photo opportunities.
We will be hosting a variety of events including Rise and Bloom, Photography Nights, and Date Nights in our Sunsets in the Sunflowers.
September 3rd, 4th, & 5th we will be welcoming fellow Nebraska companies and community members to join with us in representing all the good that our great state has to offer.
Be sure to check out Live music, local foods on our Taste of Nebraska Passport, and locally made sunflower products as well. With so much to do and see, Nelson Produce Farm Sunflower Festival is sure to be a memorable experience for everyone!

1st U -Pick Sunflower Field in Nebraska
RISE & BLOOM
Join us for breakfast and a view of the sunflowers in the early part of the day.We’ll have a breakfast of Hardy Coffee Co. coffee, a donut or muffin, and a fruit cup waiting for you! Then we’ll drive you up to the Sunflowers so you can watch them “wake up” to the sun and face the day. After you’ve finished you’re meal, fill up your Breakfast Bucket with Sunflowers to take home.
BUTTERFLY RELEASE
On the day of the release, we’ll have you meet us on the Farm a half hour before the event so we can take you out to the Sunflower Fields in our hayrack. Once there, we’ll hand over your Painted Lady Butterfly. Then we’ll release them together into the splendor of the Sunflowers!
