at Nelson Produce Farm Sunflower Festival!
This two-week event held on our 22-acre farm in Nebraska, will feature a variety of exciting activities for all ages. Spend the day picking sunflowers and creating your own bouquets, play a variety of outdoor games, or relax with a stroll through the beauty of over 100,000 bright yellow blooms overlooking the Elkhorn River.
We will be hosting a variety of events and classes, such as Rise and Bloom, photography nights , yoga and a special couples night. Be sure to check out the live music and entertainment, and don't forget to take home some of the locally made sunflower products. With so much to see and do, the Nelson Produce Sunflower Festival is sure to be a memorable experience for everyone! See details below on dates and times.

Butterfly Release
September 2nd & 3rd | 10am - 11am | $13.99 per person
Experience joy as you embark on a whimsical hayrack ride through the sunflower fields at Nelson Produce Farm. As the gentle breeze carries the scent of sunflowers and the fields stretch out endlessly before you.
Listen to the sounds of nature, the rustling of leaves, and the chirping of birds, creating a serene atmosphere that will transport you to a world of pure bliss.
But the true highlight of the evening awaits - the release of Painted Lady butterflies. These delicate creatures symbolize transformation, renewal, and the beauty of life. You will have the opportunity to release these enchanting butterflies into the wild, witnessing their graceful flight as they embark on their own journey.

This charming picnic basket for two features a tantalizing assortment of charcuterie delights, including a curated selection of premium meats, delectable artisanal cheeses, and crisp, flavorful crackers.
Complementing this savory ensemble, you'll find a bountiful array of farm-fresh veggies, hand-picked from our very own gardens, offering a burst of freshness with every bite.

Books & Blooms
August 24th | Community book trade and discounted admission if you bring a book for donation.
In the sunflower fields, there will be no shortage of fun and laughter.
But the highlight of the day is undoubtedly the captivating story-time session by a professional storyteller from Bennington Public Library!
Gathered in a cozy corner of the sunflower fields, children will be transported into the magical world of books as they listen to enchanting tales about sunflowers, nature, and adventure. The storyteller will bring the stories to life through animated voices, interactive storytelling techniques, and captivating props, ensuring that every child is captivated and engaged.
Don't miss out on this extraordinary opportunity for your little ones to connect with nature, embrace their imagination, and create lasting memories in the company of sunflowers. Bring a book to trade and a book for donation and receive $2 off admission for you and your child!
YOGa In The SunFlowers
August 27th | 29th | $10 per class
Immerse yourself in a serene and uplifting yoga experience amidst a picturesque field of sunflowers at our Yoga in the Sunflowers event. This unique outdoor event offers three distinct yoga classes for you to choose from, each catering to different preferences and levels of practice.
Sunday Worship Flow | Aug 27th | 8pm: Experience a truly divine practice with our Sunday Worship Flow class. Set to soothing music and guided by a devoted instructor, this class combines the benefits of yoga with elements of spiritual connection to God and devotion. Cultivate gratitude, find inner peace, and deepen your connection with Jesus as you flow through a sequence of gentle postures amidst the uplifting energy of the sunflower fields.
Slow Flow | Aug 29th | 10am - 11am: If you seek a gentle yet invigorating yoga practice, our Slow Flow class is for you. In this class, you will move through a series of deliberate and mindful movements, focusing on breath awareness and deep stretches. This slow-paced class will allow to take time to breath and bask in the beauty of the sunflowers.
Bouquet Class
August 22 | 7pm & 8pm | $15 per person
Get ready to channel your inner florist and create a stunning sunflower bouquet at our Sunflower Bouquet Making Class. This hands-on workshop is the perfect opportunity to learn the art of floral arrangement and create a beautiful masterpiece to bring home.
Led by our expert florists, you will be guided through the entire process of designing and assembling your sunflower bouquet. Learn about the different varieties of sunflowers, their unique characteristics, and how to select the best blooms for your bouquet. Discover the art of combining sunflowers with complementary foliage and accent flowers to create a visually pleasing and balanced arrangement.
As you delve into the world of floral design, you will be provided with all the necessary tools and materials. From pruning shears to vases, we've got you covered, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience. Our experienced florists will be on hand to offer tips and tricks, answer any questions, and provide personalized guidance throughout the workshop.
Not only will you learn the techniques of bouquet making, but you will also gain a deeper appreciation for the beauty of sunflowers. Discover the meaning behind these radiant blooms and how they can bring joy, positivity, and warmth into our lives.
At the end of the class, you will take home your very own handcrafted sunflower bouquet

Sunflower Photography Sessions
August 23rd, 24th, 30th and 31st from 5PM-9PM Exclusive Sunflower Photography Sessions in our Sunflower Field.
Nelson Produce Farm will open their gates exclusively to Photographers signed up for the evening, and their clients, on four nights only. This event is an opportunity to catch the beauty of the sunflowers without the public milling around.
The cost for each photographer will be $250 for the first night. A discount of $50 per night will be given to photographers for each additional photography session. This fee covers you and your clients.

Sessions will be limited and therefore no refunds or exchanges are offered.

If a session is cancelled because of weather conditions, we will allow you to transfer your night to another session.

Photographers will only be allowed to bring in props that can be carried.

Nelson Produce Farm will not be able transport equipment to the sunflower field.

Photographers are responsible to coordinate with their clients. Nelson Produce Farm will not be able to direct clients to you.

Areas around the field will be available on a first come first serve basis. Spaces and props will not be held.

Sunflowers will not be allowed to be cut or knocked over.

Clients must sign in at the check-in gate.

Our Farm Market will be open for clients to cool off and grab a light snack or drink.

Sunflower Proposal

Begin your evening with a romantic stroll through the sunflowers, hand in hand, as the sun casts a warm glow over the landscape. As you venture deeper into the golden oasis, you'll discover a secluded area perfectly set up for your proposal.
After the magical moment of popping the question, we invite you to indulge in an intimate dinner for two at a lovingly decorated table nearby. Savor each bite while marveling at the mesmerizing sunset that paints the sky in hues of orange and pink, embracing you in its ethereal beauty.
The enchantment continues as nightfall unveils a breathtaking scene under the twinkle lights. Find yourselves nestled amidst the sunflowers, enjoying a delightful dessert spread specially prepared for you and your soon-to-be fiancé. Sample an array of delectable sweet treats while basking in the gentle glow of the moon and stars above.
To ensure an intimate and personal experience, we will only allow one proposal per night during our sunflower festival. This guarantees that you and your partner will have the undivided attention and exclusivity you deserve on this significant occasion.
